WHY CHOOSE ALUMINIUM RAILING WITH GLASS?
Glass of different shape, thickness and color can be placed between the columns of the aluminium railing. They are fastened by special holders, which in turn are attached to the columns of the railing. They are suitable for terraces or verandas with a beautiful view.
TEMPERED GLASS
Tempered glass is produced for greater safety, strength and security. The glass is cut to size and processed, then successively heated to a high temperature in a tempering furnace and rapidly cooled. It is necessary to know that after tempering the glass can not be processed – to cut, edging, drilling. It is possible to matte and laminate.
In the tempering furnace, the glass is heated to a temperature of about 700 ° C. This is followed by relocation to a cooling section achieved by high pressure air. The temperature difference causes high compression and stress on the glass surface, leaving the center under tension. Thermal and mechanical strength are increased by the stresses created in the glass. However, the physical characteristics of the glass remain unchanged.
ADVANTAGES OF TEMPERED GLASS
Safety – Tempered glass is unlikely to break, but in this case it breaks into small particles. This significantly reduces the risk of injury.
Strength – Tempered glass has high mechanical strength. At the same thickness, tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger than untempered. The reason is the stress achieved during hardening. It withstands higher temperatures than normal glass. Remains unaffected at temperatures from -70º to 300 ° C.
Safety – Tempered glass is much harder to break than float or laminated glass.
Sound – The sound insulation characteristics of tempered glass do not differ from the characteristics of ordinary monolithic glass.
Solar control – Solar performance also remains unchanged after hardening.
LAMINATED GLASS
Laminated glass is called triplex. Like tempered glass (securite), it is treated for safety, but has other properties and advantages. It consists of two layers of ordinary glass, glued (laminated) with a stable colorless polyvinyl butylated layer between them. If the triplex glass breaks (regardless of the circumstances that caused the breakage), it does not break into sharp pieces, but into parts that remain glued to the film and are not dangerous to humans. A major advantage of laminated glass is the fact that even after it is broken, it retains its integrity and continues to serve as a barrier, stopping other impacts.
Tinted glass aluminium railing
By tinting in different colors, the railing glass acquires additional decorative functions. The technology of production of tinted glass differs from the technology of production of colorless float only in that at the very beginning of the process metal oxides are added to the raw materials, giving the characteristic color of the glass – green, blue, gray, bronze. aluminium railing
Apart from their aesthetic advantages, tinted glass is preferred in order to reduce the sun’s heat and UV rays indoors. Due to these characteristics, achieved thanks to the absorption of solar energy, colored glass is often called heat-absorbing. The glass is under thermal stress. Additional hardening is sometimes required to avoid breakage from thermal stress.
ADVANTAGES OF TINTED GLASS
Gray glass – Its light transmittance is low and allows control of sunlight and glare indoors.
Bronze glass – Bronze glass reduces the sun’s heat and glare, but on the other hand its permeability to visible light is greater than the permeability of gray glass. aluminium railing
Green glass – Green glass has a higher light transmittance than gray and bronze glass. Initially, it was widely used in the automotive industry.
Dark blue glass – Dark blue glass has indicators close to the characteristics of gray and bronze glass, so it is usually considered as their alternative.
Light blue glass – Light blue glass has a high light transmittance, even when it is thicker.
Stained glass can be subjected to additional processing: bending, tempering, lamination. Their main purpose is for solar control. They absorb more heat than clear glass and radiate more of it outside thanks to natural convection.
